Accident Happened

About a month ago, an unfortunate thing happened.

Younger bro got into accident and was admitted to A&E at Timberland Medical Centre Kuching.

His forehead, nose, mouth and hands were injured. He was brought for some scanning to check if there’s any internal injuries.. but glad that it was more to like external injuries.

Doctor said the nose soft bone is cracked. If he wants, doctor can crash the soft bone and make him a new one. But the way the doctor explained to this younger bro of mine scare the shit out of him. So he decided not to do.

The thing I dislike about this Doctor is when I was persuading bro (cos Papa wants the best for the son.. and I was just the messenger) to fix his nose, the doctor asked me not to decide for him as the nose is his. WTF. Nose is His.. Money is MINE okay !! Can you not decide for him also?! Are you afraid of doing operation or what? Why when I was trying to persuade him many times and you just didn’t help but kept on saying THE NOSE IS HIS??!! I know I know I know the nose is my bro’s.. but the thing is, you told him, whether he does the operation or not, it’s the same.. just that the nose will look not proportionate. (DOCTOR, IF YOUR NOSE IS NOT BALANCE, like my bro’s AND IF YOU HAVE THE CHANCE TO FIX IT, YOU WANT TO FIX IT OR NOT?!) If it’s not balance, of course as the family members, we want him to fix the nose and can’t you just persuade him too?!

Raaaawwrr !! We ended up settling bout RM900+ for his 2 days 1 night stay. The good thing is that he’s recovering but the scars are still very visible. Get well soon Bro.. and drive safe next time okay?!

Glad that your bro is okay! Doc usually won’t decide for you one, in case if patient changed their mind, they got blamed. Play safe mah.

@disqus_NPvxRBZKPO:disqus : I know doctor would normally let the patient decide. But the thing is.. my parents want me to persuade bro to fix his nose.. but when i was persuading him.. the doctor who was beside us that time.. kept on saying things like.. you let him decide, it’s his nose.. i know the nose is his la.. but the thing is we want the best for him ma.. that’s why we persuade him.. even when my dad talked to him on the phone telling the doctor he wants the doctor to do it for him, he just answered my dad..the nose is his.. u let him decide.. like wtf.. if you don’t have anything nice to say, just don’t say it.. i thought doctors always want the best for their patients too. but it’s oklar.. everything is over now.. :)

The doctor said that maybe because it’s the procedure. His over 18, so he needs to make the decision kot?

@willieest:disqus : I know he is just doing his job.. but the thing is.. at first he encourage my bro to do it.. and then the next day.. he kept on saying negative things like.. it’s oklar.. want to do it or otherwise, it’s okay.. no difference.. or u can decide in a week’s time to come back. like wtf.. we so free go in and out of hospital meh? haha.. oklar.. i was just mad at him because when he let the patient decide, he should not interfere what the family members want him to do right? Ok. i was just mad cos all thanks to him.. bro’s nose is now not balance..

Maybe the doctor had a day to think about what he said earlier, that’s why he changed his mind the next day.

Last few months, I lost my IC. After two days, I went to JPN to get a new one. The officer told me NOT TO make a new IC because it will be expensive to replace it with a new one, RM100. And he advised me to keep on looking for the missing IC wherever possible.

I left the office frustrated because I told myself “WTF! It’s my right and I don’t have time to always come to his office”. But then, I followed his advice, I kept looking for my missing IC until I found it under my car seat. I was relieved. Thanks to the JPN officer.

But having said this, since you’re my friend, I will always support you.

Sorry to hear about the accident your bro got into Rose!

Yeah, I understand what the doctor is doing is annoying, he shouldn’t have said it to you in front of your brother, that’s just unprofessional, doctors shouldn’t interfere with the decision making process among family and loved ones, they’re just there to advice.

Here he seems like too kepoh and want to stress that decision is your bro’s. Everyone knows the decision is your bro’s, don’t know why the doctor did that – they’re not supposed to meddle in family affairs only advice and you all discuss and then give him the final answer.
