Since there is no breakfast provided by our place, we went out to hunt for food.. and we stopped at Joma Bakery Cafe.

and Wow.. they have branches at:-
Hanoi, Vietnam:
#22, Ly Quoc Su, Hoam Kiem
#54, To Ngoc Van, Tay Ho

Vientiane, Laos:
- near Nam Phou, downtown
- Phonthan Road (near watertower)

and also the one we were at in Luang Prabang is on the main street, near post office and it began operation this year. Lucky us

#1: Raisin Twist @ 12,000kip = about RM4.80

#2: Roasted Garlic & Potato Soup @ 18,000kip = about RM7.20

#3: Breakfast Burrito @ 26,000kip = about RM10.40

JiunJie & Shirley’s amounted 56,000kip, which is about RM22.40

Since this place is a bit expensive for budget travellers, we ordered a bit here and there and share among ourselves. Shall hunt for local food later.

Not sure if we were hungry that time or.. this Bagel & Egger is really nice

One good thing about here is that they accept other currencies, like USD and THB.

#5: Pizza Pepperoni @ 21,000kip

#6: Coffee @ 16,000kip, about RM6.40 ler.. but it is refillable, as many times as you want.. and *ahem*.. Since this glass of Kopi O is so expensive, Woei Kee shared it with us and got it refilled

So, after we’ve done with our first round of food in the morning, we went to explore the city.. and this signboard caught our attention. “Please Cover Your Body. No Bare Chests. No Bikini Tops.”

We went into the alley next to Joma Bakery Cafe.. and noticed that there were actually many more guesthouses along this alley.

If you’re not on a budget trip, you can always opt to stay at New Daraphet Villa. I believe it’s air-conditioned and they got pretty good service.

and guess what. This Oudom Souk Guest House, the room is air-conditioned.. with 2 single beds, a tv and own bathroom costs only 40,000kip per head !!! and SpicyLao charged us 35,000kip for dome for 8person, fans and open shared bathroom.

But this is not the one with TV that I mentioned earlier on. But still.. we love it. Can even dry our clothes out there ler..:D

But something bad happened to my GreenBein I was cameraless after that

Looking at these elephants, reminds me of Thailand

and our plan for the night was to Luang Prabang, from Vientiane, using VIP bus.. Wootz.. 130,000kip per person.. and depart from bus station at 8pm in the evening. This journey would be a 10hour journey. So, our first night was to sleep in the bus and we shall save on the accommodation.

Oh did I mention how’s the conversion like? It was just a rough calculation by See Mun who told us.. 2,500kip is equivalent to RM0.95 (if I’m not mistaken) .. but .. to make it easier for us to do the conversion.. We have decided to make every 2,500kip = RM1.00

So, while waiting for the departure.. We went to the ‘canteen’, where we had their local noodles.

The journey started, but not long after that.. the driver stopped at the roadside to buy some huge coconuts.

and they stop again to buy something again..

The process repeated few times.. and we were still ok with it. The bus was at the average speed of 40km/h because there were no street lights along the road. What got us worried was.. when the bus driver and its people got down from the bus and started looking at the back of the bus.. Could it be something wrong with the bus? Tyres punctured? O.o

and at one point, the bus really stopped at an empty land..

It was 11.30pm Lao time T_T

We slept in the bus.. and couldn’t stand anymore cos it was too humid cos the bus driver stopped the engine. They checked and.. the people were just squatting behind the bus. Some even went to the house nearby to join the locals for the karaoke T_T

3 hours passed.. and we were still there.. waiting for help. T_T

We got up and down the bus for many times. Some even peed at the roadside cos there were no rest stations like ours in Malaysia. No petrol stations that you can borrowed to use T_T So, we need to be thick-face to go ask the locals for using their toilet.. Cannot peed like the guys ma.

King of Bus stopped and helped our driver and its people.. and it was like a big relieve for us.

and this is Malaysia’s time, one hour ahead of Laos.

We were stuck there for 4 freaking hours. Which means we were supposed to reach Luang Prabang at 6am.. now has been delayed to 10am.. huhuhu..

Oh.. btw.. the VIP tickets that we bought.. thanks to JiunJie we actually got to know that the ticket should be kept properly for our breakfast.

If you lost your ticket.. and if you feel like eating.. all you have to do is to pay 10,000kip for it..

and you know what.. their pangsue (pronounce as pang-siu.. This word comes from pangsai tissue) is pink color wei.. I’m sure Xiaxue and QiuQiu and probably Cheesie won’t wanna use it cos it’s pink and they love pink

Ok.. this is scary.. pray hard that the bus driver will drive super carefully so we don’t go near here.. We were so close but so glad we were safe

It’s a very cooling place.. like Cameron Highlands.. the things sold here also not cheap. Not sure if it’s tourists price or their standard price. But I guess.. most probably tourists price lor.

We were supposed to reach by 10am after the 4 hours delay but it was 1.28pm (Laos time) T_T

but we couldn’t be more thankful when we finally reached Luang Prabang’s bus station

and the tuk tuk that we took because whereever we said, the boss and the tuk tuk driver said they know the place O.o Must be very careful and show them where you wanna go before you hop into the tuk tuk !!

The scary thing was that.. We were all in the tuktuk.. and there’s this old uncle, whom I think was thee boss of the tuktuk driver.. stood near us.. and say PAY NOW !! We requested to pay later, but he said No.. Pay now.. with scary stare at us. O.o

So, everyone dig their money out to pay to that Uncle.. O.o

There’s nothing else we can do.. Cos.. We are in their country.. and if we don’t pay them when they asked us to.. Will we be killed or sth? Cannot imagine the situation.

and guess what.. there was a smell from ground floor.. and we went to check it out.. The lady was cooking worms It’s not that bad la actually.. I’ve tried it in Hatyai, Thailand back in January.. but I think I haven’t blogged bout it T_T

Guess what? Guess what? The guys wanna rent bicycles !!

but See Mun and I said No.. cos we haven’t been riding a bicycle for ages.. and and.. we just felt not comfortable laa.. some more they got limited bicycles.. like 4 only..

But we found a solution with 4 bicycles.

I got one bicycle for myself.. So happy can float !!

and so was Woei Kee.. So, 3 bicycles with 4 people gaodim.. The last one for the couple, JiunJie and Shirley !!

We got a problem there.. JiunJie and Shirley couldn’t share a bike together. So, we gotta rent another 2 bikes.. so all of us will be like riding a bike ourselves.

But.. end up.. JiunJie and Shirley decided not to rent another bicycle cos we need to return to them by 8pm.. and it was already 5sth that time.. and the rental for the bicycle is 10,000kip.. come to think of it.. 10,000kip is like less than RM4.. Which I think was quite worth it laa.. if we wanna have fun together.. little time also considered fun ma right?

He’ll be like super happy even if the deal is not on.. he is weird right? Some more.. he’s a guy wor.. Guy enjoys bargaining. That’s something new to me..

So girls.. if you want good deals.. remember to bring him out with you. Bao him for one day la.. LOL !!

Super long post with memories.. ♥ Let’s see how long will I take to post up another entry of my Laos trip ♥

Anyways.. I’m so glad I made to the run this year. Tickets were booked back in April 2011 and I was so glad that I was flying with Fireflyz. The cabin crew were so much friendly and presentable and they helped many passengers with their hand carry baggage, unlike.. *ahem*

The route that I ran on that day. It was on NPE = New Pantai Expressway. For those who didn’t know what NPE stands for, like me

I wasn’t confident to run for 16.8km even until the running day itself. Was kinda nervous.. and I even have the thoughts that I’ll be swept by the lorry if I was running too slow =.=” Even overslept, though I put 3 alarms =.=”

When I didn’t feel like continue running anymore, there was this Uncle who overtook me, looked at me and encouraged me to continue running. When I thought he was just saying for the sake of saying, he turned back to me (cos he was in front of me).. and said.. Come on girl.. You can do it.. He said three times. You say laa.. how can an uncle be stronger than me I be weaker than the strong uncle, right?

I started running with knees pain. I was so glad I brought knee band with me that morning. I exchanged it from left knee to right knee to left and right for numerous time.. till I was confirmed my right knee needed more, so I left the knee band to my right knee. (I hope Mama doesn’t read my blog for now cos if she sees this.. She’s going to stop me from running T_T )

The route was ok.. I’m always noob in directions. Whenever people mentioned bout where and where got what.. I never noticed. All I want is to finish running as fast as I can.. and the weird thing was.. whenever I’m running, especially when I feel the pain on my knees and ankles.. I’ll start scolding myself for putting so much money and time on running.. and ended up.. all I got was PAIN !!

But when I made it to the finishing line.. I tell myself.. I wanna do it again !! LOL !! Cos it is always very happy to see souvenir from organizer after the hardwork ♥

Many thanks to the organizer and its team members. Loving the water stations, that were allocated at every 3km. Not forgetting the spray after the running event.. and also the bananas. KOTR has been the best organized event so far

Anyways.. the results were out.. and.. the summary that I’ve done for those I know who joined the run. ♥

and I’m so thankful because my pms was supposed to visit on 30th September.. But it only visit me after my run and my date with Annna ♥ and PTL, I realized before I go on board on 3rd October. teeheehee ♥

After brunch.. Off to Hatyai Airport we went.. That marks the end of our 3days 2nights at Hatyai.. huhuhu..

AirAsia’s check-in luggage used to be half price of current’s. Huhuhu.. why now so expensive?

One thing I admire about Hatyai airport. They got free drinking water

As usual.. I don’t understand.. Why majority people very kancheong wanna queue up to go on plane?

But we were not rush.. So we stayed back while waiting for the rest to go up the plane first

and why people just love to take picture of plane’s wing when they’re on plane?

and hor.. why when plane stops.. everyone rush to get out of the plane? *scratch head*

Hatyai trip was a great one. Economy overseas trip

End up.. only Anna and I joined. But it was alright. The two Kuching girls had tons of fun with KL friends’ hospitality. Thanks to Fred and family for the accommodation and transport .. Rachel and Kelson for helping up and down and also the transportation.. not forgetting Shirley.. thanks for helping to register for this run.. and thanks everyone for the entertainment.

And bout the run, I joined half marathon, which is 21km. But according to iMapMyRun.. it was 23.95km. JJ said it’s okay to run more km.. which is quite true..

This year’s run was very well organised.. especially the water stations.. Not sure about how many km they placed a water station, but it was just the right distance before I feel dehydrated. This part, we must give them a huge round of applause.

With the forever goodlooking Hikaru !! Hehehe.. next time must run 21km ah, Hik !! Lol.

I think there are still rooms of improvement for the medical team. The medical representatives were there, but they don’t have enough stocks of sprays and some massage oil for runners.

There were many signboards, but the first two signboards kinda misleading. I thought there were 9.5km more to go when I first saw the signboard. But the actual fact is that, I made it to 9.5km and there were many more kms to go

Although their cheerleading group were not as active as last year’s, but overall, I must say that they’ve done a great job. The best running event I’ve ever joined

Oh.. the results are out.. and this is mine

Ok.. being the slowest among all my friends, I must admit..The reason why I was slow (besides 2nd day of PMS), must be lack of trainings compared to previous few runs.. and my thoughts. Before I started running, there were tons of negative thoughts in my mind. I didn’t focus on what I want. I was focusing on how much pain my pms gave me. I was focusing on whether i could finish the run. I was focusing on giving up.

So.. my next half marathon, I shall give my best.. even if my daiyimah wanna tag along. hohoho..
