DiGi Internet Unlimited 58
It has been a while since I wanted a mobile broadband. From thinking of getting IU58, to Blackberry with BBM features, to the affordable iPhone 3Gs Plan from DiGi and finally, I settled down with just DiGi IU58 after much consideration.
I know when I call 0162998888, I have to call during their office hours from Monday to Friday, 9am to 6pm. So, I called yesterday morning to get more info about DiGi IU58 which I’ve seen online and also on newspapers. But the DiGi consultant that attended to my call told me that there is no longer IU58. If I would like to subscribe, I’ve to get RM68 plan instead. I didn’t want the plan offered since I think it’s a bit pricey.
I checked online for the IU58 and I found out that DiGi website still has this plan. So, I’ve decided to give them another call to ask about IU58. To my surprise, the consultant told me there is IU58 and that I can actually subscribe to it and that the service will be activated within 2 hours. Happy to max.
Since I was with the girls last night, I did not bother to use the IU58 which was said to be activated within 2 hours. So, this morning I called to check if I actually can use the service. Shocking#1, I was told by the Consultant#1 that my IU58 has not been activated. So, she checked and confirmed with me that the service will be activated by tomorrow morning.
“by tomorrow morning” means anytime before tomorrow morning right? So, hours later, I made another call to DiGi Helpline to check if I could use the service. Consultant#2 told me my service has been activated and I actually can use the service anytime from that time. Happy to max *again*
I started using the service once I got to know that I actually can online anywhere I want.. So, after a while of using it, I’ve this feeling of checking my balance. Shocking#2, my unbilled amount increased by additional RM58.80 O.o
Made another call to DiGi HelpLine to double check on the charges. Consultant#3, Maureen Rose, double confirmed with me that my IU58 has been activated and I can use the service. When I told her I checked on the unbilled amount, she assured me that I can continue using it as it is UNLIMITED. I further asked her if RM58 will be apportioned based on 24th till month end.. and she said yes. With the assurance that she told me, I continued using my phone to online.
But later in the evening at 7pm, I checked my balance again by pressing *128*1*1#, the amount showed RM234.00. Shocking#3 [Ringgit Malaysia Two Hundred Thirty Four] Something is very not right here.
Called DiGiHelpline again. Consultant#4, Mariam, told me that I only can use IU58 tomorrow morning.
What the..
Consultant #2 & #3 told me my service has been activated and I can use it anytime.
Consultant #4 told me I’ve been charged based on the usage because the service is activated but I cannot used until tomorrow morning.
If you were me, what will you do? I’ve been charged for using the IU58 that has been activated but cannot be used until tomorrow morning?
What’s the meaning of ACTIVATED then?
If you were me, are you willing to pay that RM234.00 ??
However, Consultant#4 did give me a solution, which I am kinda satisfied with it. She said I can call in to them when I received the bill, which will be middle of May 2010 and tell them my scenario on this dispute thingy. Within 48 hours, I might be waived on this RM234.00.
Again, the word MIGHT is dangerous. It’s a 50-50 thingy. Therefore, I’m writing this down, just in case, I’ve forgotten the name of the consultants and they refused to waive the charges imposed on me. By then, I can make fuss on this issue.
I always have problem with DiGi. I don’t know why. I guess DiGi doesn’t like me T_T

Got reply from DiGi Telecommunication via Facebook

Hopefully it will still be valid by the time I make a call to them. I don’t dare to be happy too early anymore.

When I said I wanted a black and white thingy from her, she asked me to call in and talk to them about this issue. No need black and white
Will insist for one if I encounter things like this again.
Thanks so much for the advise, Daphnie

I think you should fight till you get back RM234.00… don’t give them the opportunities to get away. Do you know you could always complain to the Consumer Rights department in the government.
Just exercise your Rights
All the best to your battle.

I’ll definitely ask for waiver for that RM234.00
It’s not my fault in the first place.. Huhuhu.. Hopefully I don’t have to go to the Consumer Rights Department to do all those O.o
Thanks so much for the “All the best” wish

No point calling that DIGI customer service as it’s verbal & only they have the records, PLUS, you can’t even hear clearly what they said!!
Best is to use DG Chat. At the end of the chat, you have a copy of BLACK & WHITE and also, they work things out faster there.
Just my 2 cents:
When your statement arrive, they still charge you RM234, just print this post & clip with RM58 cheque. HAHAHAHA!!
