Frankly speaking hor.. I don’t know why is it famous.. My bowl of beehoon is just a normal beehoon soup. Meatball also just meatball. No special taste pun.

We gotta ordered another bowl of meatball soup cos Ryan was still nowhere to be seen and there were many people waiting for our table O.o So Ryan.. *ahem* what should we do hor?

Then I realized.. CNY is just round the corner.. and like really near the corner lo.. 3days left – Tomorrow will be a busy day. Saturday will be super busy too.. and Sunday will be extremely busy.

I know I’m not the only one who will be like extremely busy on these three days, with many things not prepared and bought. So, when I asked my bros and sis on the reunion dinner with our Papa and Mama who have been working so hard to raise us up, but none of us have any idea where to go. FOL!!

I suggested to them Prosperity CNY Set at Borneo Convention Centre Kuching (BCCK) that I was invited for food tasting by Mike, along with few other bloggers.

I felt like a VVIP when I arrived at BCCK. There were signs showing Bloggers Food Tasting at the escalator and along the way to the room we were brought to (which I didn’t manage to take pic of ) cos was late for the dinner. Sorry ah !!

So.. 1st dish is of cos Yee Sang !! Superb nice presentation

Do you realized in Wedding Dinners, normally Soup will be served after the first cold plate? Why ah? They wanna make us full so we don’t eat a lot is it? Anyways, we were then served with unlimited bowls of The Eight Treasure Dried Seafood with Fish Lips
.. and I prefer fish lips over shark fin ♥

Next, we have Braised Sea Bass with Preserved “Tong Chai”And Garlic. While others think that this dish is a bit too salty to their likings, I think the saltiness was perfect to eat along with the tender fish meat and its crunchy fish skin. ♥

Followed by Stir Fried Sea Prawn with Oriental Sauce. Eeee.. I like prawns but I don’t really eat them.

However, if you wanna find someone to peel off its skin, I don’t mind to do it for you

Then, we have Steamed Village Chicken with Red Dates and Chestnut.

I’m not a fan of chicken, nor red dates. So, when I look at this dish, I have no intention to try it at all. But after hearing compliments by the bloggers, one after another, I decided to give this dish a try.

I don’t know bout you, but I like meat that is being cooked for long, like the one cooked in soup that makes its meat fall off easily from the bone. Why? Cos I don’t have to munch for too long ma.. hahaha.. and I’m falling in love with its gravy, which can be drink as soup too.

Glad that one of the 8X-es is now √.. which is my hair.. hohoho.. and I’m trying to get another √ for tonight, which is my blog. People say hor, it would be better to clear the debts before the new year. So, I better clear my blogpost before the Dragon says Hello

So.. What comes to your mind when people when CNY is just round the corner? I’m sure your list is all √ √ √ √ instead of X X X X.. So, besides those in my list.. What’s more important besides grooming yourself.. cleaning your room/office.. switching your mood, etc etc..?? Of course, it’s the Reunion Dinner with the loved ones ♥

Hehehe.. Yupz.. Yee Sang, one of the most important dish during CNY. Nu Er Hong @ Pullman Kuching offers Prosperity Salmon Yee Sang which tastes really good. I’m not a fan of Yee Sang.. but the sauces in this Yee Sang were just at the right taste. Not too sweet nor sour ♥ and I had my first Yee Sang at Nu Er Hong, Pullman ♥

My all time favourite, Salmon ♥

People in the olden days do not eat like how we eat nowadays. They only eat good food during special days like CNY or Weddings or Birthdays. Suddenly I felt like I’m one of those olden days people

Why? Cos I don’t eat meat all the time. I eat vege-rice or sometimes Hopoh Luicha most of the time. No.. I wasn’t on whatsoever diet that you’re thinking. It’s just that.. I love vege more than meat.

So.. when I was served with Special “Gong Xi Fatt Chai” Two Flavours Prawns, I was .

I never liked prawns that much. I’m speechless on the taste. You gotta try it yourself.. and tell me if you love this as much as I do.. hohoho..

Next was this colourful Wok-Toss Vegetables with Fa Cai and House Made Sea Cucumber Seaweed Pumpkin Balls. My eyes went when I see this dish. LOL !!

Seeing this plate of colorful dish is just like seeing Happiness ♥

Eight Treasures Duck with Mushroom. I was aiming for the little mushrooms on top of the ducky

I’m not a fan of meat, but the ingredients in the ducky’s stomach taste heavenly delicious. This picha doesn’t do justice to the ingredients. I’m sorry for that, but trust me.. even if you’re not a ducky fan.. you will love the ingredients in it.

After all the above dishes, I was so full, as in like REALLY FULL but I just cannot resist the temptation of this Spinach Noodles Cooked with Shredded Duck Meat Bean Sprout Yellow Chive !!

How to not eat noodles when noodles is your all time favourite?? T_T
and I give 5.5/5 for this dish. Superb delicious lor. Can I have this like, everyday?

Counting down to Christmas.. How many days left? Are you prepared for this meaningful day? The most important of all.. have you chosen where to have dinner with your loved ones?

The Raintree Restaurant, located at BCCK (Borneo Convention Centre Kuching). My first time there The rest of the time when I was there, I was at the main hall and I thought that is Raintree Restaurant. Noob me.

My first time having such classy fine dining. I don’t even know how to use the cutlery till Yien taught me. Luckily no one every brought me to such classy place, else I sure make my partner paiseh. LOL! Anyways, start from the outer most set, going inwards. LOL !! Thanks Yien

For a start, we were served the Appetizer:
Blinis Tower of Lobster Medallion, Smoked Salmon and Creme Fraiche, paired with Warm Ravioli of Duck Confit and Pumpkin Puree.

Why the name of this dish super long one? But fret not, The Raintree Restaurant is offering Christmas Eve 5-Course Dinner, so you don’t have to say the super long names out when you place your order

and frankly speaking, I’ve never eaten such food after living for 18years on earth. Why 18? LOL . Anyways, before I put the food into my mouth.. I heard so many Hmmm.. Aaaahhh.. Wow.. sound.. I was thinking.. it must be the salmon that tastes great.. I was right.. Salmon is awesome.. but the Lobster is equally awesome ♥ ♥

Next, the Soup: Cream of Cauliflower with Colorful Peppers & Crouton.

Soup.. no matter what soup, is always my all time favourite. Feed me with soup alone and I can survive till I am old

Btw, when I had these food, I didn’t know what they were. I eat, I taste, I feel.. and only then I will find out what these food actually are. Weird I know. But I like it that way. So, for this yummilicious soup, I thought it was just normal creamy mushroom soup, but this time I was wrong. I never knew that cauliflower can be made soup. Yes, I don’t cook, so I don’t know much bout how the food are done, but who says the person who loves eating must know how to cook right?

3rd Course – Palate Refresher: Exotic Ginger-Lime Sorbet.

I was like so sakai.. I thought it was dessert time. LOL !! Told you I’ve never been to such fine dining already ma. Don’t show me that look laa.. Btw, this sorbet taste heavenly nice. Initially I wanted to have some hot ginger drink cos it was “the day of the month” when I was dining there. I’m so glad they serve this Exotic Ginger-Lime Sorbet.. The portion was just good. No period pain after taking this. Instead, can feel the warmth in the tummy

Served next was the Main Course. You can have a choice of:
#1: Slow Baked Turkey Roulade with Wild Mushroom and Truffle Oil, served with Sauteed Brussels Sprouts, Caramelized Chestnuts and Cranberry Sauce

My family doesn’t have this rule of must-eat Turkey on Christmas Day.
We normally will replace turkey with chicken, knowing that turkey is expensive and not easy to get especially on festive season like Christmas. And normally in restaurants, they sell stuffed turkey. But at Raintree Restaurant, the turkey is slow baked and is served rolled. It’s so convenient to eat it that way too. Ladies can also act gentle when eat the turkey with their loved ones.

or

for those who do not fancy turkey, there’s a #2 choice: Slow Grilled marinated Sirloin on Spicy Potato, Wilted Spinach with Blue Cheese, Buttered Carrot, Brussels Sprout sprouts and Beef Jus

I personally prefer sirloin. Love the way it is though some prefer it to be more rare. I love the way they marinate the sirloin with dates, dijon mustard, garlic, and a bit of chilli powder. ♥ ♥

and finally the Desserts:
Christmas Pudding with Raspberry White Chocolate Parfait.

One word: AWESOMELYGOOD – LOL !! One word ma right? Can side order this ah?

and do you know Parfait is a French word literally meaning “perfect” commonly employed to describe a kind of frozen dessert? Hahaha.. dunno ler.. but now you know.

We were then offered either Coffee or Tea and I chose Coffee

and say hello to Chef de Cuisine, Virginia Kedit with one of her crew.

To add on to the great fine dining, you can walk around BCCK and you’ll find the prettiest Christmas decorations I’ve seen in Kuching so far. ♥ ♥

The “Meet The Fans” session at the Spring on Sunday attracted many people, even during the press lunch at Kimbay.

Did that make you go Wow? Yes. It actually cost that much due to 25 accidents they had intentionally and unintentionally during the 19days of shooting. Besides that, the cost also includes 100 promotional tours in the whole Malaysia, including Sabah and Sarawak – and most importantly in Kuching. How many movies stars will actually come to East Malaysia? What more to say Kuching, right?

So, how can we missed the opportunity to take pictures with the Movie Stars?? Can you see Yien and I in the pic?

At first I couldn’t recognized Vivian because she looks fat on screen and also in pictures. I need to get clarifications from people around me to clarify if she’s Vivian She looks great in person

and oh ya.. what surprises me during the press interview was Jack and Vivian can speak pretty good English and Jack can actually speak pretty good Mandarin too. I know Vivian all this while can speak pretty good Cantonese and Mandarin but Jack who always act speaking funny Mandarin can actually speak fluent Mandarin too. O.O
